Who is David (or Ray) Dubuque ?

Ray is pictured above with two of his greatest heroes : Jesus of Nazareth, whose "New Testament" teaching and example, if actually put into practice, could do so much to solve the problems of our world, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the man whose "New Deal" programs went so far in implementing the teaching of Jesus & the greatest prophets of the "Old Testament" to love our neighbors, not in word only, but in deed.

Ray is the younger of two sons born in Chicago to a very devout Roman Catholic family.  All his early schooling was in parochial schools, where a really dedicated priest turned him on to what Catholics were then calling the "Social Gospel", and which Conservatives today cannot distinguish from "socialism" or "communism". 
        Wanting to be like his saintly mentor, Ray then spent twelve years in Catholic seminaries.  including four extra years devoted to the study of the philosophy of Aristotle, the theology of Thomas Aquinas and the Good News of Jesus Christ, all of which he found to be empowering and liberating.  After earning the equivalent of a Master's degree in Theology at Catholic University of America, in D.C., and a Master's in Philosophy at the U. of Connecticut, and being ordained a priest, he became a seminary professor.
        When, however, he saw his church take a U-turn after the Second Vatican Council and start heading back to the dark ages again, he lost any hope that the Roman Catholic Church would ever be reformed in his lifetime and decided to join the ministry of the United Methodist Church, where the Reformation had already taken place.
        Before leaving the R. C. church, however, Ray used every opportunity to preach this powerful sermon, challenging the Roman Catholic hierarchy, on behalf of the voiceless people in the pews, and then sent a copy of it to the pope's U.S. representative and to all 200 or so Catholic bishops in America.  When not a single representative of the church responded, Ray saw this as proof of the indifference of those in authority to those whom they were charged to serve.
        Ray then married Jane, one of the most genuine Christian women imaginable, who like Ray had outgrown the R C church.  Jane had five children at the time,  but the Dubuques were persuaded by the teaching of Jesus ("when you did it to the least of these, you did it to ME") to rescue five children from the long list of "hard to place" adoption lists, three of them severely handicapped, and to promote the adoption of many more such children by others. 
        Ray lead a total of nine U. M. C. churches (sometimes 2 at a time), in the states of New York and Connecticut,  until he was forced to retire early, because of his wife's health, on the one hand, but, on the other, because there were always some in his churches that chafed at his promoting what he considers crucial to Christ's teaching : the obligation of the relatively few "haves" of this world to be more concerned about the vast majority of others who are "have nots" (not through any fault of their own, but usually because of the injustice and indifference of others).
        Ray is now retired, after working in the computer field for 20 years, and now finds web publishing a great way to spread the word that the "Religious Right" are friends not of Christ (who was one of the greatest "Liberals" of all time), but the very kind of people who were the mortal foes of Jesus of Nazareth all his life.

9. TheGodlessConservativeParty.org is designed to show that to the extent that today's conservatives are "libertarian", they are following a prophet who's principal goal was to overthow Jesus Christ's "good news to the poor".
10. MorePartisanshipPlease.org is designed to show that far from being a problem, partisanship is to politics what competition is to business, sports, science, and any number of other fields where it has long been recognized as the catalyst that results in constant progress for the world.
11. liberalescomocristo.org a domain name which has been reserved for the day when a Spanish translation of the "Liberals Like Christ" becomes available for the multitude of devout hispanic Christians; &
    
12. ConvictedWrongfully.Com a site designed mostly by Brent Parris, a victim of a terrible injustice, now serving a 35 year sentence in an Alabama prison simply because, in his attempt to defend himself and his infant son from a knife-wielding madman, he wounded the attacker!
